The Last Mile
Movie Details
Synopsis | This inspiring new film for the runner and non runner alike is an inside look into what not only moves us as runners but as humans in general. John Burkett creator of The Last Mile at age thirty, newly sober, out walking his dog one morning unknowingly decides to take what is the first of many runs. "No exercise I have ever tried did I really enjoy." So what is the difference with running? It can be so hard but still I crave it. Using up hours every week but still I feel it's important to keep balance. Is it spiritual, is it just for the competitive, or is it primal, woven into every gene in our body? So why do we do it? Why do we run? This documentary searches for the answers to questions of why do we do things that are difficult... Why take the time, energy, and work driving towards goals that for many of us appear to have no return? This film explores not only what drives us to run but turns up the very things that make life worth the challenge that it can be. |
